About Total Auto Recyclers

Total Auto Recyclers (TAR) is a recycling company where reuseable parts and recyclable materials and fluids are removed from End of Life Motor Vehicles (ELVs). TAR's activities are aimed at achieving best possible outcomes for recycling, conservation and the environment while servicing the needs of its customers. 

Total Auto is located on two large four acre sites in Dandenong.

TAR's head office is located at 123 Greens Rd Dandenong next to its spare parts sales outlet, 'Jollys U Pull It'. Jollys U Pull It is dedicated to providing members of the community an economical way to buy replacement parts for their vehicles while at the same time giving them an opportunity to participate in sustainable environmental practices. Where appropriate, instead of buying costly brand new parts they can choose to buy good reusable parts from Jollys and make a significant contribution to conservation and protecting our planet. This is because reuse is the purest form of recycling.

As the name implies, Jollys U Pull It is a self serve facility offering customers the chance to receive excellent value for money by removing the parts themselves from the huge range of almost 800 vehicles we have in stock.

TAR’s other facility is a processing plant dedicated to the responsible recycling of End of Life Vehicles (ELVs). Here waste fluids, reusable parts, recyclable materials (mainly scrap metals), are recovered from ELVs. When it opened in 2002 it was the first facility of its kind in the southern hemisphere and today still sets the benchmark for environmental sustainability in auto recycling.

At a very early stage TAR adopted a proactive approach to environmental management when it became apparent that it would not be able to sustain car recycling activities over a long period without addressing a number of environmental impact issues. At the same time it was clear that society’s perception of what was commonly known as ‘car wrecking’ was generally very poor and that it would be necessary for TAR to take a leadership role in trying to improve standards across the entire industry for the sake of Its our own esteem.

TAR is committed to continual improvement and motivated by the need to ensure a sustainable future for the company. Its endeavours have enabled the company to develop standards and demonstrate a level of expertise not before seen in Australia. TAR has now achieved certification to the international standards, ISO 9000:2000 for quality management and ISO 14001:2004 for environmental management.

In recognition of its achievements In Total Auto Recyclers was presented with the award for Australia’s most Environmentally Aware Auto Recycler for 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
